Anna Silberschmidt

On the morning of February 13th at 7 AM, our dear Anna, following a serious and rapidly progressing illness, fell asleep forever.

Anna Silberschmidt, together with her husband, the artist Nicola Sansò, led the Aphorisma Studio for many decades in the heart of Tuscany. In this special place, exclusive high-quality fabrics were designed and produced, textile creation, art, and design courses were held, residencies for artists and designers were offered, scholarships for students were provided, restoration work on some Bauhaus textiles was carried out, and much more.
Anyone who visited the Aphorisma Studio and experienced the blend of top-level professional expertise combined with warmth and humanity can consider themselves lucky and, at the same time, understand how incredibly great today’s loss is.
Anna was also a member of the ETN Textilforum for many years and always contributed fully to bringing people together and spreading specialized knowledge in the field of textile culture.

Studio Aphorisma must now temporarily cease its activity while waiting to reorganize the company for its continuation.
